What are the main qualities of MILSpec cable ties used by the army?

To maintain safety and dependability in all situations, army relies on only the best electrical products. Electrical products that have high resistance to extreme humidity, temperature, storms, fire smoke, etc. are considered fit for military use. MILSpec cable tie is frequently used by the army to bind different wires securely.

The most required qualities of cable tie used for military purposes include-

Material
- It is essential to use only top quality materials to ensure strength and durability. Usually a military cable tie is made up of nylon.

Reliability
- Reliability is another important quality.  The army requires products and equipments that can be used well in even most extreme conditions.

Resistance- To function in even the most harsh weather conditions, it is very important for an electronic item to be highly resistant. According to the military standards all the products including wires, cables, connectors etc need to be resistant to chemicals, humidity, temperature, and bad weather conditions.

Tensile strength- The cable tie is available in number of tensile strength varying from 18, 30, and 50 lb. to 120 lb. The army uses cable ties with different tensile strength according to the product requirement.

Temperature endurance
-   The cable ties comes with temperature ratings to show the level of temperature each product can withstand. This rating usually varies from -40°F to 185°F that ensures that the product can safely be used in what temperature range.

Flammable rating
- Every cable tie has different flammability ratings and the military uses only those items that meet their requirements in this regard as well. This quality determines how the product burns in different orientation or thickness.
