Why you need heat shrink products for secure electrical connection?

A secure electrical connection is necessary in every electronic application. Without this connection, no application can function. However, heat shrink products are known for creating the most secured electrical connection. But why?

These products are considered the best to create a secure electrical connection. Reason behind their success is that they decrease in size effectively insulating the wires and providing protection. Benefits of these products are –

  •    Protection from outside factors including moisture, solvents, abrasion and more
  •     Necessary insulation
  •     Flexibility to fit in different applications
  •     Quick and easy installation
  •     Reliable and secure connection

These many benefits are the reason why heat shrink products are the choice of most industries. But to create a strong and secured electrical connection in application, you require two types of products, which are –

Tubing – Tubing is the probably the most common heat shrink product. As its name makes it clear, these products decrease in size when certain amount of heat is applied directly on them. This tubing is used to provide insulation over wires. It protects wires from outside factors such as weather, environment, abrasion and more. When heat is applied to this tubing, it decreases in size effectively securing the wire and electrical connection inside. It works as a protection and insulation cover. Different amount of heat is applied on different type of tubes.

In many applications, it is also used to gather several wires together in one tubing to avoid a cableseveral wires together in one tubing to avoid a mess. ver. ely securin es. Usually, this tubing is made of polyolefin, but some manufacturers also make it from nylon. It is available in various sizes and different temperature ranges from which you can choose the most apposite one according to your application’s requirements.

Gun – You require a heat shrink gun to apply heat to tubing and decrease it in size. This gun increases the temperature of tubing and forces it to decrease in size. These guns come in various temperature ranges, which vary from 180° to 1200° F. With this feature, you can apply different level of warm air to different products.

Usually, these guns also have an airflow control switch, which helps you in controlling the temperature and airflow. Some manufacturers offer guns that can be used in various other electrical works other than shrinking. It includes welding, drying, forming, soldering, paint stripping and more. Choose the one that meets all your business and industry requirements.
